Biography
Gábor Hosszú received the MSc degree in electrical engineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 1985. He obtained a Cand. Sci. degree from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1992 and his PhD from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 1995. He earned the János Bolyai Research Grant of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2001 and he obtained his lawyer's diploma from the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences in 2011. He has been awarded the title of doctor habil and the right to hold independent university lectures (venia legendi) in the field of Informatics, Engineering and Technology in 2014.
After graduation he received a three-year scholarship from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences to carry out research at the Hungarian Microelectronics Co. Currently he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electron Devices at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
His current of research are statistical evaluation of bioelectronic signals, pattern evolution, pattern recognition, and phylogenetic algorithms. He has been a leader of several research projects.
